Disco
The disco was a success with us raising over one thousand dollars. We have discussed what we might do with the money but we haven't finalised it yet, please comment on what ideas you have. At the moment we have a few ideas to what we might do with the money, blinds for the hall, repaint the four squares, area for enrichment groups, a school I-tunes account, and something for a future disco.

Integrity
Our focus is on integrity. We have learnt what integrity means and how it effects us as a leader.
As a leader, we have to use integrity all the time. If we don't use integrity all the time, we will
be judged on the time we did not use integrity as opposed to every other time. Tash made us do an integrity
diary, which we are grateful for because this helped us see whether we are using integrity or not.
It is a great subject to learn.

Young Leaders Day
Last Monday fifteen students went to the Town Hall for the National Young Leaders Day. There we heard five motivational speakers. Their names were Rob Harley, James and Justin, Judge Beecroft, Barbara Kendall and Nick Tuitasi. The hosts were Charlie Panapa, Whitney Pa'u and Alice Gallagher. They said some very interesting things and had great quotes and stories. We all learned a lot and it was great fun! We are now doing follow up activities such as how we can implement the messages into our daily lives. We can't wait till next year!

Last Week of Term
This is the last time you'll be hearing from us this term so we'll discuss the events coming up in term 2 (exciting!) as well as what we've been doing this week.
This week we have continued our discussion on being confident in ourselves and with our friends. We have also discussed how self-image effects being a leader. We also did a sheet on believeing in ourselves and about what it sounds like, what it looks like and what it feels like.
Next term we will be doing a collection of old clothes, toys etc. The donated items will go to an orphanage in South Africa with a VSA volunteer. Also next term we could possibly be having a school disco-you will get more information if it is confirmed.
Thank you for your time and Happy Easter from the Young Leaders.

Kia Ora The Young Leaders team here,
We have brand new sports equipment to thrill and amuse you at play times. We have tested this new equipment and it is so fun! We know you'll enjoy it as much as we did.
We have been focusing on ourselves as leaders and we have done exercises this week. We asked people what they thought of us and got good feedback. We also identified ourselves as leaders and thought about what makes us individuals. We learnt that is important to know ourselves before we can lead others.
The Young Leaders in the photo are, from back to front, left to right: Victoria Hunter, Sian Williams-Jones, Georgina Lomax-Sawyers, Olive Brown, Isaac Paku, Taine McKenzie, Anna Caudwell and Asia Brownlie. Absent was Noah McGarvey
